Amazon Seller Profit Calculator

See what actually reaches your bank after every Amazon fee and GST.

Enter your listing price and costs. We will apply every Amazon deduction, the 18% GST charged on those fees, your input tax credit and your return rate, to show what you really earn per order.

The fee stack sellers forget

Four deductions come out of every order: a referral fee that is a percentage of the total selling price, a closing fee that varies by price band, a shipping or weight-handling fee, and 18% GST charged on the sum of all those fees. Sellers who model only the referral fee routinely overestimate profit by fifteen percent or more.

GST on fees is claimable — if you are registered

Amazon charges 18% GST on its own fees. A GST-registered seller claims this back as input tax credit, so it is not a real cost. An unregistered seller absorbs it entirely. That single difference can decide whether a thin-margin product is viable at all, which is why registration status is a field here.

Returns cost more than the refund

Amazon refunds the referral fee on a returned order, but shipping and handling charges are usually not recovered, and the unit may come back unsellable. Enter a realistic return rate for your category — apparel commonly runs far higher than electronics — and the profit figure becomes something you can plan around.

Know your break-even listing price

The calculator gives the GST-inclusive price at which the order earns exactly nothing. Keep it in mind before you join a sale event or match a competitor's price, because a discount that dips below it converts every extra sale into a larger loss.

Check your rate card

Referral percentages differ by category and often by price band within a category, and Amazon revises them. Pull the current numbers from Seller Central rather than relying on a figure you memorised last year.

Frequently asked questions

What referral fee percentage applies to my product?
It depends on the category and often on the price band too, ranging from around 2% to over 20%. Your Seller Central rate card lists the exact figure for each of your listings.
Should I enter my product cost with or without GST?
Either — just set the toggle correctly. If you are GST registered the tax you paid your supplier is recoverable as input credit, so the calculator treats it separately from your real cost.
Does this cover FBA as well as Easy Ship?
Yes. Enter the pick-and-pack fee in the FBA field for fulfilment by Amazon, or leave it at zero and use the shipping field for Easy Ship.
Why is my settlement amount higher than my profit?
The settlement is what Amazon transfers after its fees. Your profit is what remains after you also account for the product cost, other expenses and the GST you owe the government.
